How can I pay a friend using Klimpr?
Klimpr makes it very simple and convenient for you to pay your friends. To make a payment, hit the big green button with the plus sign at the bottom of the screen. Now, the contact picker appears and you can either choose a recipient from your address book or manually enter the recipient’s phone number. Note that we only support Swiss mobile phone numbers at this point. Next, you enter the amount you want to pay and choose a category for your payment. If you want, you can further specify the payment by leaving a comment. Finally, you confirm the correctness of your payment with your security pin. If the amount is smaller than your current balance, then the payment will be settled immediately and your balance will be updated accordingly.
Can I cancel pending payments?
Yes, you can. You can cancel any pending payment that you’ve received. If you wish to cancel a pending payments that has been issued by you, then the recipient has to agree to this. Klimpr will inform the recipient and he or she can either accept or deny the cancellation request.
If you wish to cancel a payment to someone who does not yet use Klimpr (by definition, this payment is pending and can be cancelled), you can cancel without waiting for him or her to accept.
Can I pay friends who do not yet use Klimpr?
Yes, you can. Payments to people who do not yet use Klimpr will be notified about the payment via SMS. Once they’ve installed the app, the payment will be settled (if your balance is high enough). Until then, the payment will be pending and you can cancel it anytime.
Can I withdraw money from my Klimpr balance?
Of course! To request a payout, tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the screen and choose Payout. Enter the amount you wish to withdraw and provide your IBAN and security pin. Provided that your information is correct, the amount will be credited to your bank account within 2-3 business days.
How can I load money on my Klimpr balance?
You can tell Klimpr the amount you want to load by pressing the wallet icon in the top right corner of the screen. After that, we will send you a prefilled payment slip via email. Use that payment slip to transfer the desired amount from your bank account – if you use ebanking, the transfer will be free of charge. We will credit your balance once we receive confirmation from our bank that the money has arrived. Typically, this happens within 2-3 business days.
Can I pay somebody even though I don’t have enough money on my balance?
The short answer is yes, go give it a try! Not satisfied? Ok, here’s a more detailed explanation: If your balance is insufficient, the payment will be processed but without transferring any money. Your payment is now in a pending state (we call this a pending payment). The recipient of this payment will be notified and she or he can see the payment in the transaction history. Each pending payment has a clock icon attached to it.
Do I have to pay to use Klimpr?
No, Klimpr is free for private individuals. That being said, should our bank charge us with any fees incurred during loading or withdrawal, we reserve the right to deduct the corresponding amount from your Klimpr account. We further reserve the right to change our prices in the future. We promise to give you a heads up before we do.
Do you impose any restrictions on the service?
Yes, but only a few.
- Money can only be transferred to Swiss mobile phone numbers.
- All payments made with Klimpr need to be linked to a real world exchange of goods or services.
- By using Klimpr, you declare that any of your payments can be linked to such an exchange.
- Finally, Klimpr is required to impose certain limits on your Klimpr balance and payments:
